Venturefest 2008

MONDAY 30 JUNE 16.15 – 17.15

Climate Change Update

Venturefest 2008’s climate change session follows on from last year’s debate on environmental technologies and climate change projections – with an investor panel discussing investing in innovative ‘cleantech’ businesses

Chair: Fiona Reid, Executive Director, Oxford Centre for Entrepreneurship and Innovation

The session features specialist investors and analysts in clean/green technologies including: Patrick Sheehan, partner at ETF, (Environmental Technologies Fund), which manages funds of £110m; Rachael Nutter of the Carbon Trust, the government-backed company that has become a major UK investor in early-stage clean technologies and services; Martin Chilcott, serial entrepreneur and founder of early-stage investor Meltwater Ventures; and Ted Mott, founder of Oxford Capital Partners, which has recently invested in several green technology firms.

Chaired by Fiona Reid, Executive Director of the Oxford Centre for Entrepreneurship and Innovation, the panel will discuss investment trends and the complex challenges of venture capital in this area.
