TUESDAY 1 JULY 09.30 – 12.30
Integral Vision Case Study
Setting out – in real-time – the issues that technology companies and their investors face as they grow
Presenter: Lucius Cary OBE
The Case Study takes the form of real decisions that the founders and investors of a small company faced at each stage of its development. The actual information that was available at the time is made available to Case Study participants, who must take group decisions.
The first decision is whether to invest in a small, high tech company with an overdraft of £80k. The terms on which the investment was made are explained and copies of legal agreements and share certificates are available.
As the company develops and seeks to raise further funds participants must decide how to raise this money, from whom and on what terms. When the company receives an offer of investment for less money and more equity than sought, should it accept? Should the company take on a non-executive director and, if so, on what terms?
And, precisely because this is a real case, some very unexpected events occur.
